‍Find an outlet that would showcase the carefree nature of New England Patriots Tight End, Rob Gronkowski.

Background

‍The year was 2012, and Rob was still seen as a newbie within the NFL. His reputation and narrative were in the hands of the fans and he wanted to give more of himself in an official manner so that the narrative would be more in his control.

Solve

‍As a carefree guy who just loves his family, having a good time and laughing, ESPN The Body Issue didn’t seem like the perfect fit at first, but the magazine was also looking to showcase diverse images in their upcoming magazine.

Result

‍ESPN put Rob on the cover of their Body Issue and created video cuts of the shoot to really tell the entire story of Rob. What resulted was a guy that fans fell in love with even more. They saw themselves in him and loved that he was just having a great time doing what he loved.
